Introduction to Watercolour

Saturday, April 21 and 28, Saturday, 9:30 to 4:00

Cost, including all supplies, is $150.00

Watch demonstrations, practice expressive watercolour painting, and gain knowledge and experience in watercolour techniques that you can build on. Learn how to organize a palette, choose and prepare materials, use five pigments to create a variety of colours, lay down washes, and create texture. At the end of the session(s) you will have "frameable" pieces of your own work that you have completed during the classes. You will learn how to frame your art on cradled wood panels or canvas in lieu of mats and glass. Helpful handouts will be provided to guide you in the future. A maximum of four people per session allows time for individual attention.

part 1: soft edges and negative painting in sunflowers
part 2: texture in windows and doorways
part 3: wash and value techniques for landscape (hills, sky, clouds)
part 4: continuation of part 3 (trees, rocks, reflections) and wrap-up

Tea/ coffee and snack are provided each session. (For Saturday sessions bring a bag lunch).
